Getting to know Adaku

Q. Where were you born?

A. London, England

Q. What is your background?

A. My father is from Nigeria and my mother is from Trinidad & Tobago. Yea, I'm kind of all over the map.

Q. When did you come to the U.S.?

A. I came back and forth a few times but finally settled just before junior high school. I have been back since though, on holiday!

Q. Have you always wanted to be an actress?

A.  No. I actually grew up wanting to be a pediatrician or a pediatric nurse.

Q. What is your favorite genre and why?

A. That's easy. ACTION. I love watching moves with intense fight scenes and epic battles. I love when action meets fantasy meets sci-fi. Those are the types of films I love to watch. Hence, my quest on thriving as an actress in those genres. I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work with some of the best stunt choreographers in the business. I have dabbled in Seido Karate.

Q. Any new hobbies or passions?

A. I started horse riding because I booked a recurring role on Netflix's "Cursed" (2020). Although, filming has finished, I fell in love with riding and keep up with my riding lessons as often as I can. I have also gotten into interior design, and DIY.  I was absolutely chuffed when I bought my first Ryobi powerdrill. I also love baking. I've always baked cakes, but ever since the pandemic, I've bake sourdough every week.

Q. Are you working on anything as a producer?

A. I'm currently writing a few scripts. More leaning into the thriller and action genres. It's still very early days.
