Getting to know Adaku
Q. Where were you born?
A. London, England
Q. What is your background?
A. My father is from Nigeria and my mother is from Trinidad & Tobago. Yea, I'm kind of all over the map.
Q. When did you come to the U.S.?
A. I came back and forth a few times but finally settled when I was 10 years old. I have been back since though, on holiday!
Q. Have you always wanted to be an actress?
A. No. I actually grew up wanting to be a pediatrician or a pediatric nurse.
Q. What is your favorite genre and why?
A. That's easy. ACTION. I love watching moves with intense fight scenes and epic battles. I love when action meets fantasy meets sci-fi. Those are the types of films I love to watch. Hence, my quest on thriving as an actress in those genres. I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work with some of the best stunt choreographers in the business. I have dabbled in Seido Karate.
Q. So would you want to focus on stunts only?
A. Absolutely NOT! I am NOT a stunt woman. I am an actress that would love to do most of my own stunts if given the opportunity. Of course, anything too dangerous for me or something I'm just not comfortable with, a professional stuntwoman would have to step in.
Q. So I hear you have a passion for basketball…are you any good?
A. I’ve been playing ball since I was in 5th grade. I played for high school and I also played college ball. But i’ll let my skills on the court speak for me.
